WINGS Scholarship
Women Initiating and Nurturing Growth through Scholarships, or WINGS, is a program sponsored by Women Executives for Community Service (WECS) The program supports students attending Charlotte area universities with preference given to female students. Please visit the WINGS website at www.wecharlotte.org for details of eligibility criteria and expectations of WINGS scholars.
WINGS Scholars awards are prorated per hours taken. A full-time student may be awarded $5,000 for the academic year. The scholarship may be renewed if the recipient continues to meet the eligibility requirements. Recipients of the WINGS Scholarship also receive something potentially even more valuable! A seasoned, female executive will be paired with each WINGS Scholar to provide one-to-one mentoring and professional guidance. Each mentor is a member of Women Executives (WE), and gives their own experience, perspectives, counsel, networks, and personal support—what they give is themselves. Questions should be directed to the University Scholarship Office (704-687-5871).
